Shrink a large PDF so it is easier to email or upload, while keeping the pages readable. Choose a compression level that fits your needs.
Reduce PDF file size for email attachments and upload forms. Start with ordinary compression; use a target-size tool when a portal requires 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB or 2 MB. A smaller result is not guaranteed for every document, so check readability before sending it.
The file is rewritten with its internal data streams recompressed and its objects packed more efficiently. This is lossless: text, vector graphics and images look exactly the same, and you can still select and search text.
The saving depends on how the PDF was made. Files exported by some office apps and scanners are stored inefficiently and can shrink a lot; files that are already optimised, or consist mainly of photos, shrink less.
Upload portals often set a hard limit such as 100 KB, 200 KB or 2 MB. Our Compress to size tools keep trying stronger passes until the file fits. If lossless compression is not enough they turn pages into compressed images, which does lower quality and removes selectable text, and they always tell you whether the target was reached.
This tool recompresses internal PDF data without redrawing pages or reducing image quality. The saving depends on the file; an already optimized PDF may not get smaller. Target-size compression is a separate tool and may reduce image quality.
Files are processed for your job only and swept from our servers automatically afterward.
