Crop PDF margins

Trim the margins of a PDF by pixels or percentage, on one page or every page, to remove unwanted white space.

Margins are applied to every page. Percent is relative to each page's own width/height.

Trim white space or unwanted margins from a PDF, either by an exact point amount on each side or by a percentage of the page. Apply it to one page or every page.

How PDF cropping works

Cropping trims the visible area of each page by moving its page box inwards. You can give the margins in points (1/72 inch) or as a percentage of each page, which works better when pages have different sizes.

The content outside the new edge is hidden, not deleted. It will not print or show in readers, but anyone with a PDF editor can enlarge the box again. If the trimmed area contains something confidential, use Redact PDF instead.

How to use this tool

  1. Upload the PDF you want to crop.
  2. Set the top/bottom/left/right margins to remove, in points or percent.
  3. Download the cropped PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Does cropping remove content, or just hide it?

Cropping shrinks the visible page area (mediabox/cropbox); content outside the new box is no longer shown or printed.

Can I crop only some pages?

Yes, this version applies the same margins to every page in the file; page-specific cropping isn’t offered yet.

Tips

  • Percent mode is the quickest way to strip the wide white margins that scanners add.
