Summarize a PDF with AI

Summarize extracted PDF text with AI. Review key facts against the original; long documents may be only partially represented in the AI context.

Get a concise AI-generated summary of a PDF’s content in the language you choose, so you can grasp a long document in seconds instead of reading it end to end.

What this tool can do

Get an AI summary of text extracted from your PDF, then compare the important points with the original. The AI tools use at most 50,000 extracted characters, so a long document may be only partially represented. Availability depends on the configured AI service; a generated summary is not a verification of every page.

How the summary is produced

The text of your PDF is extracted and sent to a large language model (Anthropic Claude) with instructions to summarise the key points. It is a fast way to decide whether a long report is worth reading in full. Very long documents are trimmed to their first part (about 50,000 characters) before summarising, so for books or large reports, split the PDF and summarise each part.

AI summaries can miss nuance or misstate details. For contracts, medical or legal documents, use the summary as a guide and check the original before relying on it.

How to use this tool

  1. Upload the PDF you want summarized.
  2. Choose the language for the summary.
  3. Read (or copy) the AI-generated summary once it’s ready.

How long is the summary?

The summary is a concise overview of the key points, not a full paraphrase of every section.
